Final Draft of the Paisley....Hopefully

I also have a version with a very dark green background, but I honestly think the real fabric is black, I just really liked how the dark green pretty much looks like weathered black in the swatch I have so I may still go for dark green anyway.

Vest Fabric Update and possible hat base!

I received my test swatch for the vest fabric I created for spoonflower.com and it is too dark and dull.

Below is my second draft, brightened up and the jelly beans are up the right way now :)

Will have to wait a fortnight to see if these tweaks do the job.



Fingers crossed it will be spot on and I can put my order in! I also have a friend who is waiting for me to perfect it so she can buy some too!! I am getting such a kick out of this fabric designing lark!! I can't wait to start on the next movie replica fabric (arwens paisley for her blood red gown)


In other news I have found my hat base, it's a bit on the pricey side but It has all the elements I'm looking for and it's an Akubra which is Australian made so I'm very happy to support home grown companies :), I'll also be supporting a local hat shop :)

Here it is... It is fur felt so I will be able to re shape it with some steam.
